Dr. Christopher De Jesus was born in New York and raised in the Dominican Republic. He obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo. He completed a General Surgery Internship at Mt. Sinai Morningside/West (the former St Luke's-Roosevelt) in New York City. He did his General Surgery Residency and Chief Year at Lenox Hill Hospital - Northwell Health in New York City. He then fulfilled a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine - SUNY.
Dr. De Jesus' focus is on patient experience and education. He is an expert in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques. His clinical interest is in colon and rectal cancer, colon cancer screening and advanced endoscopic treatment of polyps and precancerous lesions, treatment of benign anorectal pathology such as hemorrhoids, and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathways to decrease hospital length of stay. Dr. De Jesus is Board Certified in General Surgery and Board Eligible in Colorectal Surgery.
